SAUDADES GRIP

SAUDADES GRIP explores the relationship between colour, structure and spatial perception.

Developed for the group exhibition COLOUR & SPACE at Sevenmarks Gallery, the series investigates how fragmented geometric forms can create a sense of depth, movement and instability.

Layered colour, interrupted grids and shifting planes establish compositions that appear to move between order and disruption. Familiar structures become less certain as boundaries dissolve and new relationships emerge.

The title draws on the Portuguese word saudade, describing a sense of longing or absence. Here, that idea becomes a way of considering how fragments can suggest something beyond what is immediately visible
